Information About This Unit
Description of Learning Unit:
This unit covers skip counting and pairs and will focus on counting by 2s, understanding pairs and sorting objects into sets of two. Hands-on activities and learning tools are provided to help your child understand and practice the concepts. This unit is designed to last one week, depending on how often you teach math.
List of Objectives:
- To be able to count by 2s.
- To understand what pairs are and to be able to make pairs.
- To be able to sort objects into sets of two.
List of Materials and Supplies Needed for This Pathway:
- Pairs of shoes
- Cardstock
- Rubber stamps (at least five different choices) or pictures cut from magazines and catalogs
- Ink pads (at least five different colors) or glue
- Markers or crayons
- Stapler
- Scissors
- Pairs of socks (at least five different pairs from family members)
- Rope
- Clothespins
- Construction paper
- Glue or tape
- One ball (choose a soft one)
