Read the definitions in the "Definition" section. Then, follow the directions in the "Teaching Strategies" section. In a homeschool setting, work with a parent, sibling, or friend. Use paper and pencil rather than a whiteboard, chalkboard, or overhead.

After completing this exercise, discuss whether the article about the zoo and the cartoon are one-way or two-way methods of communicating.
