Description of Learning Unit:
In this unit, you will read the story "Frederick" by Leo Lionni. By creating a collage, tracking weather, learning about animals in winter, recreating Frederick's winter home, and designing a puppet theatre, your child will understand the story and have fun. You will also talk about main characters and relate the concept to "Frederick" and other stories. Your child will also learn the sight words "always," "around," "because," and "been." This unit is designed to last one week, depending on how often you teach language arts.
