Give your child a three-ring binder and have him or her design a cover to slip in the clear pocket on the front or in the notebook itself (depending on the type of notebook you're using). Put three dividers in the notebook and label them "Literature Writing Assignment," "Non-fiction Writing Assignment," and "Creative Writing Assignment." If desired, your child can decorate the dividers for each section of the notebook as well.
Have your child write his or her name on each writing assignment and the date that it was completed. As your child finishes a writing assignment, have him or her put the paper in the notebook behind the correct divider.
